Pin Agency Says Yes to Blackout, No to SOPA/PIPA

by Mik Pam on January 17, 2012

On January 18, Pin Agency will be joining Wikipedia, Reddit, Boing Boing, the Cheezburger Network, and several other sites in protesting the SOPA and PIPA anti-piracy bills by staging a 24-hour blackout. Aside from raising awareness around the two bills, the protest should spark denizens of the web into action, or so the blackout participants hope. For our part, we do hope that by saying yes to the strike, we are inspiring people to write an e-mail to Congress, petition the US state department (for those who are currently not in the US), and share relevant links such as this SOPA infographic or Feld.com’s “Protect the Internet” post—basically, everything possible to Stop American Censorship. A complete list of confirmed sites joining the blackout is listed on Mizozo, NLB-Creations, and Reddit, while a Take Action Checklist may be found on AmericanCensorship.org.

Pin Agency’s blackout will run from 12:01am to 11:59pm. We are inviting everyone to engage us in discussion over our Twitter feed, G+ page and Facebook page. Let us do everything we can to stop Congress from passing the Protect IP Act (PIPA) or the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). Join the protest today!
